INDICATIONS
Serutan Toasted Granules are an effective, natural way to restore or maintain regularity. They contain psyllium, one of the richest natural sources of soluble dietary-fiber available. Unlike other psyllium products that are powdered, Serutan Granules need no mixing. Crunchy and lightly sweetened, they can be sprinkled on foods like cereal or oatmeal, salads, applesauce, casseroles, yogurt and desserts, accompanied by an 8 oz. beverage. Serutan Granules contain no chemical stimulants, are not habit forming, and can be used daily to maintain regularity by those who may not otherwise get enough fiber in their diets.
INGREDIENTS
Active Ingredients:Per Heaping Teaspoon: Psyllium Hydrophilic Mucilloid 2.5g; Sodium Less Than 0.03g; Fat Less Than 0.5g.Inactive Ingredients:Acacia; BHA; Calcium Propionate; Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride; Caramel Color; Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium; Corn Starch; Invert Sugar; Magnesium Stearate; Oat Flour; Saccharin Sodium; Sodium Benzoate; Sucrose; Wheat Germ.
DIRECTIONS
Adults: 1 to 3 heaping teaspoons 1 to 3 times daily sprinkled on food (cereals, salads, casseroles, desserts, etc.). Do not exceed 9 teaspoons per day. Be sure to drink at least 8 oz. Of liquid (a full glass) with your food each time you use serutan. Serutan should always be put on food, not taken directly from a spoon. Children 6-12: half the adult dose with 8 oz. Of liquid. Do not exceed 5 teaspoons per day. Children under 6 years: consult a physician. Take this product (child or adult dose) with at least 8 ounces (a full glass) of water or other fluid. Taking this product without enough liquid may cause choking. See warnings. Note: it may require 2 to 3 days' therapy to produce full effectiveness.
WARNINGS
Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block your throat or esophagus and may cause choking. Do not take this product if you have difficulty in swallowing. If you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product, seek immediate medical attention. Do not use laxative products when abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting are present unless directed by a physician. If you have noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over a period of 2 weeks, consult a physician before using a laxative. Laxative products should not be used for a period longer than one week unless directed by a physician. Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition. Discontinue use and consult your physician. Keep this and all drugs out of reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using this product. May cause allergic reaction in those individuals sensitive to psyllium.
