For children five years or younger. Press power button to activate unit. The unit will perform a self-test and the display window will show 188.8 degrees F for approximately two seconds to indicate the unit is working properly. The previous temperature reading will then be displayed for approximately three seconds. Place the pacifier nipple in the child's mouth. The unit will display L F until it measures a 90.0 degree F temperature. Temperatures above 90.0 degree F will register on the display and F will continue to flash until the measurement is complete. The unit will sound a 'beep beep' when measurement is complete. If the child's temperature is above 99.9 degrees F, the 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' lullaby will play to soothe the child and indicate a fever. If you wish to monitor any fluctuations in temperature readings, keep the pacifier thermometer in the child's mouth for additional readings at approximately five minute intervals. To turn unit off, press the power button. The display will flash + if the battery is low. To maintain the life of the battery, this unit features an automatic shut-off function that activates after approximately 25 minutes of operation. The Tender Tykes Digital Pacifier Thermometer is a sealed unit and must be replaced when the battery becomes low. Detailed instructions are enclosed. CLEANING: To disinfect, wash with mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly in cool water. Do not boil or use hot water. Do not use harsh chemicals. This unit is not dishwasher safe.
Do not tie pacifier around child's neck as it presents a strangulation danger. This unit is NOT intended for use as a custom pacifier or teething instrument. The child should be supervised at ALL times while using this product. After monitoring the temperature, the unit should be removed from the child immediately. DO NOT attach any pacifier to a child with pins, ribbons or string. Injury or strangulation could occur. Before each use, wash the unit with mild soap and warm water, rinse well, and inspect thoroughly. Discontinue use if the nipple shows signs of damage or wear.
